Paul Greene

Paul Greene, whose new album Distance Over Time recently hit #1 on itunes Blues/Roots Chart and has continued to chart within the top 10 ever since its release.

Distance Over Time is a phenomenal showcase for Paul Greene’s songwriting skills, justifying the many critics who regard him as one of Australian music’s best-kept secrets.  Melbourne's 3PBS’s tipped it as one of the best Blues & Roots albums on week of release while Rhythms said: "As far as musicians go, you can liken Culburra Beach based singer / songwriter, Paul Greene to a fine wine - maturation is the key here, and while there's a while to go, perhaps before you'd dust him off and enjoy him with your veal cordon bleu, he's well on his way, having been down in the cellar doing the hard yards for quite some time now." (Sam Fell,  Freelance Writer - Rhythms / Inpress / Drum Media/Mess+Noise / Australian Guitar)

Sydney Morning Herald’s Bernard Zuel remarked how he moves effortlessly “from rustic folk-pop to unreconstructed rocker; from herbal roots ex-surfer type to intense singer-songwriter”. "Greene's genuine songwriting stands above all else" proclaimed the Newcastle Herald; “You could be forgiven for thinking we may have our own Jack Johnson but Greene is more than that!” exclaims the Daily Telegraph. DIG radio says, “Paul Greene is growing into one of the best Australian singer songwriters” whilst Nova called his music “refreshingly honest and as catchy as you like” before anointing him Australia’s best unsigned acoustic act in 2007.

Already spinning on radio from the new album, Greene’s stunning interpretations of The Waterboys’ classic The Whole Of The Moon (which was given the seal of approval by its composer, The Waterboys main man Mike Scott, who proclaimed it to be a ``great version`` before praising Greene for his amazing vocals), and Jeff Buckley’s The Last Goodbye (a JJJ favourite lifted from the Buckley tribute album Stars In Their Belly).

Greene has taken a staunchly independent path, selling nearly 30,000 albums locally. He has played countless festivals, bar rooms and concert halls across Australia and recently toured with Grammy winning U.S singer/songwriter Patty Griffin and platinum selling country rocker Adam Brand. Greene is touring nationally in coming months to promote Distance Over Time.
